Happy Birthday to one of the nicest ladies in our fandom, wildsweet_angel! Terry, we're all so lucky to have you. It's impossible to think of you without a smiling, and I'm so happy that we're friends. Hope your birthday is fabulous, just like you.

1- My favorite perfume: Ralph Lauren Blue.
2- My favorite color: Hmmm, toughie. Red, I think. Although 2 years ago we did paint the kitchen orange - because after all, it IS the new blue.
3- My favorite thing to buy: Earrings! And they have to be cheapo earrings - not more than $10 or so (on sale of course, so they look more expensive), because I have to have tons to switch off so I don't get bored.
4- My favorite male actor (outside of QaF): Gotta go with Jimmy Smits, because really was there anything more sexy than (beside Gale, of course) Bobby Simone in NYPD Blue? However, of the new crop Ed Westwick is pretty hot ("I'm Chuck Bass").
5- Favorite female singer: I was only recently introduced to Tori Amos (thanks, daughter darling) and she's cool. But interestingly all I could think of when I read this question was Beyonce ("to the left, to the left"). Not that big on female singers.
6- My favorite food: Chocolate. In any form. No contest.
7- My favorite place to visit: Any place the entails shopping.
8- My favorite flower: Daffodils.
9- My favorite TV show (outside of QaF): Too hard to pick one. Top Chef, Project Runway, Mad Men. Still loving those I Love Lucy reruns; she's still got a lot o' 'splaninin' to do.
10- My favorite movie, one I've watched more than 10 times: Another hard one. American Beauty, All About Eve, In Her Shoes (Simon Stein, yes).......

You know sometimes what really should happen finally does, even if 99% of the time it doesn't. Sometimes someone who really, really deserves something wonderful sees their dream come true, and today that happened in our house. Today my lovely, smart and totally terrific daughter ellyrianna found out that she was accepted Early Decision to Sarah Lawrence College, the school of her dreams. After a difficult year in which she was overlooked and disappointed so many times when she truly deserved to have the spotlight shine on her, all I can say is hallelujah and let's celebrate.

So congraulations to my daughter, who makes me proud every day and who I love with all my heart. I'm so happy for you today. This is only the beginning of a whole new wonderful adventure. Enjoy every minute!

Okay, so I can't actually believe I'm writing in my journal. I never thought I would and it's kind of weird, I must admit, but I got sick of logging in and LJ telling me it's been 3955+ weeks since my journal has been updated, and is there some sort of a problem? Okay, okay already, I give in.

So now, what to write? Truly a dilemma. For those of you that don't already know this, the reason that I have this journal in the first place is that my daughter - the lovely and supremely talented ellyrianna - decided that it was just creepy that I would read people's stories and comment as "anonymous." She set the whole thing up for me, helped me choose some icons, and camelhaircoat was born.

Since my obsession with fic was the reason that this LJ came to be, I decided it only fitting that I dedicate this post to thanking some of the authors who have not ony given me so many hours of pleasure these past months, but have also been nice enough to answer my comments in such a friendly and welcoming way. I really wasn't expecting that at first - just wanted them to know how much their work was appreciated - and to actually receive an answer made the whole experience even more fun. I actually feel like I've made a couple of fandom friends, although I must say I have noticed that a couple of the more "famous" authors in the fandom don't really acknowledge my comments because I haven't written in my journal. I will still continue to read their stories though, just because I enjoy them and their writing is that good.

So, thank you so much to my beloved ellyrianna and alliequixotic,severina2001, etharei, notreallyme10, sonofabiscuit77, fansee, chering, mclachlan,qaffangyrl, tgray and jule1122. Your stories and your kind comments make me soooo happy. Thanks for sharing your talents.
